Saint-Gobain Coating Solutions offers a complete line of aluminum oxide thermal spray powders that impart dense, hard, wear-resistant coatings with electrical insulating properties. These coatings provide high dielectric strength & thermal shock resistance, making them ideal for a range of applications, from paper, print & textile processes to aerospace, automotive & chemical industries.
Saint-Gobain’s #110 is a blocky-shaped gray fused aluminum oxide powder containing about 3 percent titania. When sprayed, this powder produces a hard, dense coating that offers wear resistance & dielectric strength in aerospace, printing, automotive & chemical applications.
Saint-Gobain’s #110 GE is a blocky-shaped, fused aluminum oxide powder with about 3% titania. The powder yields wear-resistant coatings that are ideal for aerospace, printing & automotive applications.
The #110 GE is approved for GE A50TF87 Class A & meets requirements for Honeywell EMS 52432, Boeing 10-67 type 3 & Rolls Royce 9507/36.
#112 Aluminum Oxide Thermal Spray Powder
Saint-Gobain’s #112 is a blocky-shaped, fused aluminum oxide powder with about 3% titania. The powder produces coatings that provide wear resistance & dielectric strength in aerospace, printing & automotive applications. The #112 is approved for GE A50TF87 Class B, Canadian Pratt & Whitney 281 and Pratt & Whitney 1311 specifications.
#117 & #119 Aluminum Oxide Thermal Spray Powders
Saint-Gobain’s #117 & 119 are blocky-shaped, fused aluminum oxide powders with about 3% titania. The powders are brown in color but spray gray. The resulting coatings provide wear resistance & dielectric strength for aerospace, printing, chemical & automotive applications.
The #117 is approved for GE A50TF87 Class C.
Both powders are available in a range of particle sizes. Contact your Saint-Gobain Coating Solutions representative to select the ideal size based on your application & desired surface finish.
Saint-Gobain’s #150 is a very high purity white powder that produces hard, dense coatings with low porosity. The coatings offer excellent wear resistance at low temperatures & are ideal for textile parts, process rolls, armature shafts & seal faces.
Saint-Gobain’s #153PT is a 99.8+% pure white powder with low soda content. It is recommended when purity is essential, such as electronic & dielectric applications.
These high-purity, blocky-shaped fused powders are insoluble in aqueous solutions of common acids & alkalis. They also offer high dielectric strength at room temperature.
These powders produce coatings with excellent resistance to abrasion, cavitation, particle erosion, friction, heat & oxidation, making them ideal for textile & chemical applications.
The #184 powder produces hard, dense coatings that are recommended for armature shafts, textile parts, process rolls & seal faces. It is approved for Pratt & Whitney 1310 and meets specifications for Honeywell EMS 5232, Allison Gas Turbine EMS 56758 & Rolls Royce 9507/9.
Saint-Gobain’s #190 is a hollow, spherical alumina thermal spray powder designed for high purity applications. The 99.9+% pure material is white alpha alumina with particle sizes from 10-30 micron as controlled by Microtrac. The hollow-sphere materials spray with high deposit efficiency and smooth delivery to the plasma with high flow rates. Saint-Gobain suggests using #190 for applications requiring high dielectric strength, such as ESC. The #190 also provides very good wear resistance.
Saint-Gobain’s #199 Alumina is a spherical alumina thermal spray powder designed for high purity applications. This 99.9+% pure material is based on sol-gel feeds and is available with particle sizes from 10-75 microns as controlled by Microtrac. Saint-Gobain suggests using #199 for electronic applications like ESC or where high dielectric strength is required. The #199 can also be used for applications requiring wear resistance.
